The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party, led by K Chandrasekhar Rao, has expressed its disappointment with the Union Budget 2024. The party shared its reaction on Twitter, criticizing both Congress and BJP for not allocating funds to Telangana.
In the tweet, written in Telugu, the BRS party highlighted that despite having 8 MPs each from Congress and BJP, Telangana received no funds. The tweet humorously stated “8 Congress MPs + 8 BJP MPs = 0 (for Telangana)” and included an image to emphasize the point.
The Union Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, recently presented the budget. It was noted that states like Andhra Pradesh and Bihar received significant allocations. Andhra Pradesh, for example, was granted Rs. 15,000 crore for the development of Amaravati, as these states are governed by parties allied with the BJP.
This disparity in fund allocation has caused frustration within the BRS party and among the people of Telangana.
