Hyderabad: On Sunday, BRS leaders strongly criticized the police action taken against Raj Pakala, the brother-in-law of BRS working president, KT Rama Rao (KTR). They accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of orchestrating this move to frame KTR.
Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav stated that Raj Pakala was simply hosting a housewarming event for his new home when he was targeted. He argued that KTR’s opposition to the government has led to these actions. Yadav questioned the basis of the complaint, asking why someone’s family should be dragged into political rivalries. He expressed concerns over the police’s conduct, saying they entered Pakala’s home without a search warrant and accused them of conspiring against the BRS leader. Yadav urged the government to focus on governance rather than targeting political opponents.
Another BRS leader, V Prashanth Reddy, accused the police of trying to frame Pakala by planting evidence in his home. He mentioned that top government officials were closely monitoring the case, implying there was a larger plan behind this incident.
Several BRS leaders also alleged collusion between the Congress and BJP in the state. Senior leader P Sabitha Indra Reddy pointed out how Union Minister of State for Home, Bandi Sanjay, quickly reacted to the Pakala incident but remained silent when police families protested on the streets. V Srinivas Goud said that having liquor at home functions is common and accused the government of trying to discredit KTR through this issue.
MLA KP Vivekanand further criticized Revanth Reddy, accusing him of creating unnecessary drama to frame KTR. He suggested that Reddy has a “KTR phobia” and warned that the BRS would hold officials accountable for their actions once they return to power, even if the officials have retired.
