The BRS filed a complaint with the Election Commission in Hyderabad, accusing the official social media accounts of the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office of violating the Model Code of Conduct.

Konatham Dileep, a member of the BRS social media team, stated that it is against the law for the Chief Minister’s official social media accounts to share any updates or photos/videos during the Model Code of Conduct. Despite this, the CMO’s social media accounts are regularly posting updates and photos/videos.

Dileep, who previously worked as the director of Digital Media for the Government of Telangana from 2014 to 2023, recalled receiving strict instructions during past elections to adhere to the Model Code of Conduct. He pointed out that even the Prime Minister’s Office follows the MCC and refrains from posting updates on their social media. He criticized the current administration in Telangana for disregarding the rules.
