BRS Leader Criticizes Union Budget for Ignoring Telangana
Hyderabad: BRS leader Ravula Sridhar Reddy criticized the Union Budget presented by the Centre on Saturday, claiming it showed the BJP’s lack of sincerity towards Telangana.
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Sridhar Reddy pointed out that Telangana received no allocations in the previous year’s budget as well. He highlighted that former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had worked tirelessly for ten years on various development programs and repeatedly sought funds from the Centre, but these requests were ignored.
Reddy further alleged that BJP and Congress Members of Parliament (MPs) from Telangana had failed the state. He questioned the contributions of the two Union Ministers from Telangana, asking, “What have they achieved?” He criticized Union Minister Kishan Reddy for calling it a “dream budget” despite Telangana not receiving any funds. Reddy also noted the absence of key projects such as the Bayyaram Steel Factory, Railway Coach Factory, Sainik School, Navodaya School, and Warangal Airport in the budget.
The BRS leader went on to describe the Union Budget as one focused on Delhi and Bihar rather than Telangana. He urged BJP leaders Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay to learn from Union Ministers Rammohan Naidu and Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, who he claimed had done more for neighboring Andhra Pradesh. Reddy concluded by demanding that BJP and Congress MPs apologize to the people of Telangana for their inaction.
