    Bonalu Festival Celebrated with Grandeur in New York

    The Bonalu festival, which holds great significance in the Telangana region, was celebrated with grandeur in New York, USA, during the month of Ashada. The New York Telangana Telugu Association (NYTTA) President Sunil Reddy Gaddam organized the Bonalu festival, showcasing the rich Telangana culture and traditions. The festival was held at Kings Park, with the iconic Golconda, Lashkar, and Lal Darwaza entrances recreated to recreate the ambiance of Telangana. The State Park was transformed into a vibrant venue with traditional Telangana rituals, performances, and songs.

    The decorations at the festival caught everyone’s attention. Indians and Americans alike enthusiastically participated in the Bonalu festival, wearing the traditional dappu attire and applying vermillion on their foreheads. Along with the energetic performances and cultural programs, the festival also witnessed the dedication of devotees who visited every stall with utmost devotion. Telangana cuisine delighted everyone’s taste buds. Notable personalities like County Deputy Executive Jan Cunningham, Diversity Outreach Reach Director Safolk County Mohinder Singh Thanjha, Dr. Paila Mallareddy, Sadhanareddy, Dr. Bhartireddy, Dr. Ramureddy, Dr. Sudhakar, Vidyala, Geetha Vidyala, Baji Surapaneni, and Bhagya Surapaneni graced the occasion.

    The NYTTA Chairman Dr. Rajender Reddy Jinna, Vice Chairman Lakshman Reddy Anugu, Executive Committee President Sunil Reddy Gaddam, Vice President Vani Singarikonda, Treasurer Ravindra Kodali, Joint Treasurer Prasanna Madhira, Secretary Geetha Kanakala, Joint Secretary Harika Janga, and members Padma Taduri and Haricharan Bobbili successfully organized the Bonalu festival.

    Board of Directors Satish Kalva, Usha Reddy Mannem, Sodhar Reddy Peddireddy, Pavan Ravva, Mallik Reddy Akinapalli, Dr. Venugopal Palla, Dr. Krishna Badhe, Rama Kumari Vanama, Advay Jari Chinababu Reddy, Madhusudhan Reddy, Pradeep Samala, and Srinivas Guduru actively participated in the event representing various local and national organizations such as TTA, TLCA, and TANA.

    The Bonalu festival in New York witnessed overwhelming participation from the Telugu community, with representatives and leaders from various organizations attending the event. The celebration showcased the rich cultural heritage of Telangana and served as a platform for cultural exchange and unity among Indians and Americans in New York.
