In Rangareddy district, the Bharatiya Janata Party has seen a significant increase in vote share over the past 15 years, despite not having any legislative representation in the Chevella Lok Sabha segment. The party’s vote share in the segment has nearly doubled since 2009.
The BJP performed better than other parties in four out of six constituencies in the Chevella segment, with Maheshwaram showing the most impressive increase in vote share. In Maheshwaram, the party’s vote share rose from 14.13% in 2009 to 32.45% in the last Assembly elections.
Similarly, Rajendranagar also saw a significant rise in BJP’s vote share, increasing from 13.73% in 2009 to 27.32% in the last elections. The party has shown improvement in most constituencies since 2018, except for a brief period in 2014.
While the BRS emerged as a strong regional political force in the Chevella segment, both TeluguDesam and YSRCP have disappeared from the political map in the last 15 years. The AIMIM’s graph has also declined, especially in Vikarabad and Tandur constituencies with significant Muslim voters.
Overall, the BJP has shown steady growth in vote share in the Chevella segment since 2009, outperforming other parties in several constituencies.
