The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its first list of candidates for the Rajasthan Assembly elections. The list includes 41 candidates, including seven Members of Parliament (MPs). However, supporters of former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje did not make the list.

Some of the loyalists of Raje who were not included in the list are MLA Narpat Singh Rajvee and Rajpal Singh Shekhawat. The seven MPs who did receive tickets are Rajyavardhan Rathod, Diya Kumar, Baba Balaknath, Narendra Kumar, Bhagirath Choudhary, Kirodi Lal Meena, and Devji Patel.

In August, Raje and her camp suffered a setback when they were excluded from two important committees for the upcoming elections. Raje and her loyalists were not included in the manifesto committee and the election management committee. Raje’s supporters have been demanding that she be declared as the chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming polls.

The Election Commission has also announced the poll dates for five states: Rajasthan, Telangana, Mizoram, Karnataka, and Chhattisgarh.
