BJP Leader Demands Apology from KTR Over Hindu Remarks
Hyderabad: BJP Telangana State Spokesperson Rani Rudrama has demanded an apology from BRS Working President and former minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) for his comments about the Hindu community. Speaking to the media on Monday, she accused KTR of making unnecessary criticisms of BJP leaders after losing power in the last election.
Rudrama claimed that the BRS is making false accusations against the BJP following their defeat. She criticized KTR for his remarks about the Akshinthas (sacred rice) of Lord Ram from Ayodhya, saying it was inappropriate to involve religious matters in politics. She particularly pointed out his statements during a meeting in Karimnagar, where he reportedly said that the Akshinthas did not originate from Ayodhya.
She further accused KTR of being confused about the temple in Ayodhya, unsure whether it is dedicated to Bala Ram or Sita Ram. She also criticized him for referring to the Akshinthas as “Talambaralu” and for suggesting that ration rice in Telangana was being distributed as Akshinthas from Ayodhya. According to her, such remarks insulted the Hindu community and showed a lack of understanding.
Rudrama alleged that KTR made these comments to gain support from the Muslim community while disrespecting Hindu deities during Ramzan. She also accused Congress leaders of mocking Hindu beliefs in their criticism of the BJP.
She emphasized that it is unfair to insult Hindu gods and hurt Hindu sentiments just to attract Muslim votes during elections. Rudrama reminded that millions of people contributed to the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, celebrating the occasion after 500 years. She called KTR’s remarks about the event “shameful.”
KTR had claimed that the BJP won eight MP seats through unfair means. However, Rudrama pointed out that in the recent MLC elections, the BJP won two out of three seats, while the BRS did not contest at all. She highlighted that the BJP increased its MP seats in Telangana from two to eight, whereas the BRS lost all its seats and became too weak to contest in the MLC elections.
She warned KTR and the BRS against making false allegations. “KTR says he will go on a padayatra (political march), but if he continues to insult Hindu gods and sentiments, he will have to face their wrath,” she cautioned.
