Hyderabad: State BJP president and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy expressed his strong objections to the arrest of senior party leader Venkataramana Reddy, who had organized the ‘ChaloGajwel’ yatra from Kamareddy. Reddy traveled to Pitlam police station to visit the arrested leaders and raised concerns about MLA M Raghunandan Rao being stopped by the police while trying to meet the arrested leader.
Meanwhile, national vice-president D K Aruna criticized the arrest and questioned whether Gajwel was the private farmhouse of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Aruna accused the police of acting under the influence of the ruling party and using arrests as a means of intimidation.
Aruna further stated that the police had arrested the former ZP chairperson in Kamareddy without providing information about his whereabouts. They only brought him to Bichkonda police station a day later. Aruna explained that Venkataramana Reddy had called for the ChaloGajwel protest because of the BRS claim that Kamareddy would be developed like Gajwel. However, he was arrested by the government.
Aruna questioned the government’s motives for arresting Reddy, suggesting that they were afraid of exposing the lack of development in Gajwel. She also accused the government of using arrests as a means to intimidate opposition leaders.
Aruna demanded the immediate release of the arrested leader and requested permission for him to visit Gajwel. She also urged the MLA to visit Bichkonda police station.
