Hyderabad: BJP MP and SC Morcha National General Secretary, Dr. Bhola Singh, strongly criticized the Congress party and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, for engaging in divisive politics. He said that the BJP, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is working hard to fulfill Dr. B R Ambedkar’s vision and the concept of Antyodaya, which aims to bring development to all deserving citizens in India.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Dr. Singh claimed that Rahul Gandhi often makes baseless accusations. He noted that during the 2024 general election campaign, Gandhi tried to convince the public that the BJP would remove reservations for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) and would change the Constitution to gain power.
Dr. Singh specifically pointed out that, despite being an elected leader and taking an oath on the Indian Constitution, Gandhi stated during a speech in America that the BJP would alter the Constitution and end reservations if it came to power. In contrast, Dr. Singh emphasized that the BJP has always supported the reservations established by Dr. B R Ambedkar to help SC, ST, and Other Backward Classes (OBC) achieve socio-economic progress.
He further mentioned that, under Prime Minister Modi, the government introduced reservations for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) to support individuals who are in need. Dr. Singh highlighted the BJP’s focus on empowering four main groups—farmers, the poor, women, and youth—in order to build a developed India. He pointed to welfare programs like PM Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, and medical coverage for people aged 70 and above, which are designed to benefit everyone in society.
Dr. Singh also credited the BJP’s success in Haryana, where it won a third consecutive term with a larger majority, to the party’s good governance. He also mentioned the party’s strong performance in Jammu and Kashmir.
He expressed confidence that the BJP will win the upcoming assembly elections in Telangana, given the growing public trust and support for the party.
Earlier, Dr. Singh, along with BJP MP Dr. K Laxman, visited the Secunderabad Railway Station, which is currently being renovated. This visit was part of their duties as members of the parliamentary standing committee on railways.
