Telangana State BJP filed a complaint against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for breaking election rules. The complaint was lodged with the State Chief Electoral Officer.
According to the BJP State General Secretary, Dr. Kasam Venkateswarlu, after voting in Kodangal in the Mahabubnagar Parliamentary constituency, the Chief Minister held a media conference that was broadcasted live on TV channels between 11:40 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
During the media conference, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made statements about the ongoing elections which are prohibited during the silent period outlined in Section 126 of the Representation of Peoples Act. These statements were also deemed a violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
Some of the comments made by CM Revanth Reddy included urging voters to choose Congress in Mahabubnagar, stating that people have decided not to vote for BJP, and criticizing the BJP’s performance.
