Central agencies may be getting involved in the telephone tapping probe in Telangana. This news comes after BJP leaders criticized the State government for not taking strong action. A petition will be presented to Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the case.

After the election results, the new government at the Centre may ask for a report from the State government about the ongoing investigation. Despite law and order being a State subject, the Central agencies could get involved due to the seriousness of the allegations, which have inter-state ramifications.

The allegations include data destruction, phone tapping of judges, and illegal tapping of Members of Parliament’s phones. These issues could prompt the Centre to seek a report on the situation. In response, the BJP is planning a Dharna in the city to demand a thorough probe into the scandal.
