Several BJP leaders in the erstwhile Khammam district were put under house arrest by the police after the state unit chief, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, was arrested in Karimnagar. Among those arrested were Galla Satyanarayana, the party district unit chief, Kondapalli Sridhar Reddy, the state president of Kisan Morcha, and other party leaders. The leaders have criticized the government for deliberately targeting BJP members with house arrests and have accused the government of failing to conduct important examinations, including the SSC. They have demanded that an investigation be conducted by a sitting judge into these matters.
