In Gadwal, S. Ramachandra Reddy, the district president, is pushing for improvements to the agricultural market sub-yard in Aija Municipality. This market holds daily auctions for vegetables from 4 am to 7 pm and serves Aija town and 32 nearby villages. However, the market lacks basic amenities like drinking water and toilets, and the area is overgrown with thorns, posing a risk to farmers due to venomous snakes.

Furthermore, a state-level cattle market is held every Thursday in Aija town, bringing in an average annual income of around 40 lakh rupees. Despite this income, the market facilities are in poor condition. Farmers from Mahabubnagar district, Karnataka, and Rayalaseema bring cattle, sheep, goats, and chickens to this market. The lack of drinking water and proper facilities for livestock shows a neglect of basic amenities for farmers and their animals.

    S. Ramachandra Reddy also emphasized the need for comprehensive buying centers for all types of food crops to ensure fair prices for farmers and protection from brokers and fraud. He called for an upgrade of the Aija agricultural market sub-yard to benefit farmers in the region.

During the event, Aija town and mandal presidents, as well as other leaders and workers, were present to discuss these issues and push for improvements in the agricultural market sub-yard.
