BJP Criticizes Congress Government for Failing Farmers
In Jogulamba Gadwal district, BJP district president S. Ramachandra Reddy strongly criticized the Congress-led Revanth Reddy government for allegedly misleading farmers and failing to fulfill promises made before the Telangana Assembly elections. Speaking at a press meet in Maldakal Mandal Headquarters, he accused the government of delaying critical support for farmers, including loan waivers, Rythu Bharosa payments, and the paddy bonus.

Unfulfilled Promises to Farmers
During the election campaign, the Congress party made several promises to farmers:
– A loan waiver of ₹2 lakh for every farmer.
– ₹15,000 per acre under the Rythu Bharosa scheme.
– A ₹500 per quintal bonus for paddy farmers.
However, Reddy alleged that the government has failed to deliver on these promises. According to him:
– Loan waivers have not been provided to half of the eligible farmers.
– The Rythu Bharosa scheme has skipped two installments altogether, with one installment offering only ₹6,000 per acre instead of the promised ₹15,000.
– The ₹500 per quintal bonus is being given only to fine-quality rice farmers, leaving out others.
These shortcomings, he said, have deeply disappointed the farming community.

Comparison with Modi Government’s Pro-Farmer Policies
Reddy contrasted the Congress government’s failures with the welfare schemes implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. He highlighted several initiatives under the BJP-led central government:
– Financial support to small and marginal farmers under the PM-KISAN scheme.
– Subsidized fertilizer prices:
– Urea at ₹600 per bag.
– DAP (Diammonium Phosphate) at ₹2,300 per bag.
– Complex fertilizers at ₹1,700 per bag.
– Fair Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for crops.
– Crop insurance through the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) to protect farmers from losses due to natural calamities.
Reddy emphasized that these policies demonstrate the Modi government’s commitment to farmers’ welfare.

Call for Action and Warning of Protests
The press meet was attended by several senior BJP leaders, including Ram Anjaneyulu, Venkateshwar Reddy, Tirupati Reddy, and Dama Nagaraju, along with other district council members.
The BJP leaders demanded that the Congress government fulfill its promises immediately. They warned of protests if farmers’ issues remain unresolved.
This press conference highlights growing dissatisfaction among farmers in the Jogulamba Gadwal district, with delayed financial aid and policy failures becoming a major concern. It also sets the stage for a political showdown between the BJP and Congress in the region.
