The BJP is demanding answers from the State government regarding the recurring faults in the Kaleshwaram project. Former DGP and State spokesperson Krishna Prasad expressed concern over reports of water and sand being sucked from the bottom of certain pillars in the Saraswati’s barrage. He pointed out that these flaws become apparent during rainy seasons and could pose a higher risk with increased water pressure. Engineers are attempting to mitigate the problem by filling sand erosion with sandbags. The Annaram barrage, which was constructed to irrigate 11.5 lakh acres, has previously faced issues with submerged motors during floods. The BJP leader questioned why the agency responsible for the project hasn’t addressed these recurring incidents and criticized the government for remaining silent on the sagging of the barrage pillars. People are eagerly waiting to hold the government accountable in the upcoming elections.
