BJP Leaders Meet Officials to Address District Issues
Gawal: BJP District President S. Ramachandra Reddy recently met with the District Collector and senior officials from the Electricity, BSNL, and Roads and Buildings Departments. He submitted a petition highlighting important issues in the district and urged immediate action.
The BJP delegation focused on improving infrastructure in Aiza town, which connects Gadwal, Kurnool, and Raichur. They pointed out the absence of proper bus stops on key roads, causing difficulties for commuters. To resolve this, they requested the construction of a mini bus terminal at Raichur Chowrasta and health centers in Durga Nagar. They also proposed a four-way junction near the old bus stand and the Government Junior College.
With a population of around 1.2 lakh and 70,000 voters, Aiza is an important transportation hub. The BJP leaders noted that buses from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka frequently pass through the town. Given its significance, they demanded the construction of a new integrated bus stand with 15 platforms and a bus depot.
Another concern raised was the presence of old electric poles obstructing roads from the Ayyappa Swamy Temple on Gadwal Road to the Kurnool-Raichur junction. The delegation urged officials to replace these poles with a central lighting system and a divider to improve road safety.
The leaders also highlighted the problem of unused BSNL telephone poles along the town’s roads, which pose risks to commuters. They requested their removal to facilitate smooth traffic movement.
Additionally, they sought approval for a one-kilometer double road from Telangana Chowrasta via the MRO office to Uttanur Chowrasta. Regarding the Peddavagu stream bridge, they suggested straightening the curves near the Valmiki Temple to improve road alignment. They also demanded a double road from the old bus stand to EClasspuram via the market yard, as the current road is in poor condition.
The meeting was attended by BJP District General Secretary Ravikumar Ekbote, OBC District President Devadas, Aiza Town President Kampati Bhagat Reddy, Mandal BJP President Gopal Krishna, Narsimhaiah Shetty, and several other party leaders.
The BJP leadership urged authorities to act quickly on these demands, emphasizing the need to enhance infrastructure and improve public convenience in the district.
