A team of BJP leaders, led by KV Ranga Kiran, visited Chandrugonda to see how much damage the crops had suffered and talked with the farmers. The leaders were sad to learn about the problems the farmers were facing and believed the government was not doing enough to help. They blamed the government for not responding to the damage caused by the rain and demanded they provide aid to help the farmers.
KV Ranga Kiran criticized the BRS government for not working for the welfare of the farmers and questioned why they weren’t implementing the Central government’s Fasal Bima Yojana scheme in the State. He said that the crops had been damaged because of untimely rains, and yet the State government hadn’t visited or assessed the damage in the district.
The BJP leader urged the BRS government to release an aid package to compensate for the crop damage caused by the rain. He said that both paddy in the fields and at procurement centers had been damaged.
