The district president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Rama Chandra Reddy, is calling for Aija mandal to be declared as a Revenue Division. Aija mandal is the largest revenue mandal and the second largest town in Jogulamba Gadwal district, with a population of 45 thousand and about 10 thousand formal and informal households spread over an area of 7 kilometers. The population of Aija mandal and town is projected to reach 1 lakh 13 thousand by 2022, so we demand that Aija town be declared as a Revenue Division.

Almost 30 percent of the voters in the Alampur Constituency are from Aija mandal itself. Aija voters have determined the results of the 2009, 2014, and 2019 assembly elections. Aija is the biggest town with 25 thousand voters in 26 polling centers in the Alampur Constituency.

Aija town is close to 5 mandals within a 20 kilometer radius. The people from 25 nearby villages have access to education (25 high schools and 6 junior colleges) and medical facilities (2 super specialty hospitals, 4 children’s hospitals, and 10 small-scale hospitals).

People from various villages come to Aija for employment regularly. Two national highways will be completed within 3 kilometers from Aija town: National Highway 159A from Surath to Chennai and another one from Vanaparthi to Mantralayam, which has been recently sanctioned to connect with 5 revenue mandals near Aija. This will lead to great progress in the future.

Despite the expansion of Aija town’s public facilities, educational institutions, infrastructure development, and necessary government offices, neither the previous nor the current government has taken the initiative to establish Aija as a big city or Revenue Division. Every citizen of Aija must play their role in achieving Aija as a Revenue Division by submitting a petition to the concerned officials and utilizing media networks and social media to forward the demand of merging two or three nearby mandals.

Rama Chandra Reddy advises the people of Aija to utilize media networks and social media to forward the demand of Aija being declared as a Revenue Division by merging two or three nearby mandals.
