Kishan Reddy Criticizes Congress Government in Telangana
Telangana BJP President and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy has strongly criticized the Congress-led state government. He claimed that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s administration is just as corrupt as the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government under K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
Speaking at a press conference at the BJP state office, Kishan Reddy accused the Congress government of pushing Telangana further into debt. He alleged that despite making big promises before the elections, the government has failed to deliver.
Claims of Rising Debt and Corruption
According to Kishan Reddy, the Congress government has borrowed ₹1.50 lakh crore in the last 15 months to fund its welfare schemes. He argued that instead of helping the people, the government is continuing corrupt practices like illegal land sales, sand mining scams, and liquor-related frauds—similar to the previous BRS regime.
He questioned the government’s progress on its pre-election promises. “What is the difference between the two governments? Have the people benefitted? Where is the action plan for the promised guarantees?” he asked.
BJP’s Views on Delimitation and Language Policy
Kishan Reddy also spoke about the ongoing debate on the delimitation process. He said that the BJP has no issue with an all-party discussion on the matter but accused the Congress and DMK of misleading people. He clarified that delimitation can only happen after the national census and must follow the Delimitation Act introduced by the Congress-led UPA in 2009.
The BJP leader also accused DMK and Congress of trying to distract people from their failures in governance, especially in Tamil Nadu. He claimed that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s government is facing criticism due to corruption, high taxes, and increased electricity charges.
Clarification on Language Policy
Kishan Reddy denied allegations that the Modi government is trying to impose Hindi. He said that India has always followed a three-language policy and that the Centre is committed to promoting regional languages, including Tamil.
Growing Political Tensions in Telangana
With Telangana’s politics becoming more intense, the BJP’s sharp attack on the Congress government suggests a tough battle ahead of future elections. Political parties are now focusing on governance, financial policies, and language issues to strengthen their positions.
