BJP Accuses Congress of Breaking Promises in Telangana
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a large bike rally in Shantinagar to draw attention to the Congress government’s alleged failure to deliver on its promises, even after a year in power. The rally criticized Congress for not implementing its “six guarantees,” which the BJP claims have resulted in “66 frauds” that deceived the people of Telangana.
BJP's Rally and Key Criticisms
After the bike rally, a meeting was held at the Vasavi Kanyakaparameswari Kalyana Mandapam with BJP District President S. Ramachandra Reddy as the chief guest. During his speech, Reddy accused the Congress government of betraying various groups, including women, farmers, and pensioners. He pointed to unfulfilled promises like the Mahalakshmi scheme, Gruha Jyothi scheme, gas subsidies, Rythu Bandhu bonuses, and pensions for the elderly and disabled.
Reddy also criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of dragging the state into debt and being unfit to lead.
Broken Promises in Gadwal and Alampur
Ramachandra Reddy highlighted specific development promises that were ignored in the Gadwal and Alampur constituencies. These include:
– Irrigation: Assuring water to the tail-end areas of the RDS project in Alampur.
– ST Status for Boya Community: Including the Boya community in the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.
– Water Storage Projects: Completing reservoirs at Mallamma Kunta, Julakal, and Valluru.
– Education: Establishing a degree college and a junior college for girls in Aija.
– Transport: Constructing a bus depot at Alampur X Road.
– Hostels: Setting up a BC girls’ post-metric hostel in Aija.
– Roads: Modernizing the district’s road infrastructure.
BJP Leaders Speak Out
Several prominent BJP leaders attended the meeting, including Rajagopal, the party’s 2023 MLA candidate, District Vice Presidents K.K. Reddy and Madhusudhan Goud, and State BJYM Vice President Rajasekhar Sharma. Other attendees included leaders like Eshwar, Nagamallaiah, and Nageshwar Reddy.
BJP’s Commitment to Accountability
Ramachandra Reddy concluded his speech by pledging to hold the Congress government accountable for its promises. He assured the people of Jogulamba Gadwal district that the BJP would continue to stand by them and address their issues. The party vowed to fight for the fulfillment of developmental promises and the welfare of Telangana’s citizens.
