Hyderabad: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) conducted an awareness programme on Monday for the officials of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB). The event focused on precautions to improve the quality of work carried out by the Water Board.
The programme was organised under the guidance of the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. Its purpose was to ensure that the Water Board adheres to the highest standards in its operations.
Speaking at the event, HMWSSB Managing Director Ashok Reddy stated that the session would help enhance the quality of services and work done by the Water Board. BIS officials educated the Water Board staff on how to verify whether the machinery, electrical equipment, pipes, manholes, valves, and other tools used meet ISI quality standards.
Additionally, BIS officials explained that if there are any concerns regarding the quality of materials, HMWSSB officials can submit an online application. BIS will then provide the necessary clarification regarding the standards of the goods in question.
