Residents of Moranchapalli in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, 200 kilometers northeast of Hyderabad, were in a difficult situation due to flash floods caused by heavy rain. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team came to their rescue on Thursday. The villagers woke up to find their homes flooded with water. Some residents climbed on rooftops while others held onto nearby trees for safety. They used social media to share their situation and called for help.

It took some time for the authorities to respond, but eventually, the NDRF team arrived with inflatable rubber boats and rescued 70 people. The Army chopper also airlifted six individuals who were stranded in Moranchavagu. Around 300 families had already evacuated to safer places before the floodwaters entered the village. In total, 1,500 affected people were shifted to rehabilitation centers in Karkapally and Laxmireddy village.
