Mahabubnagar: Development Boost for Bhootpur Municipality
Devarakadra MLA G Madhusudhan Reddy (GMR) announced that ₹10 crore has been approved for various development projects in Bhootpur Municipality. This announcement was made during a review meeting with municipal officials at the MPDO office in Bhootpur.
During the meeting, GMR discussed ongoing projects, pending works, and future initiatives. He emphasized the Congress government’s commitment to the development of Bhootpur and criticized the previous BRS government for making false claims. Speaking to the media later, he accused the previous administration of financial mismanagement. He revealed that the BRS government spent ₹1.32 lakh per month for five years on rented tractors instead of purchasing them for municipal use. Additionally, he noted that under the BRS rule, Bhootpur municipality did not receive any revenue from stamp duty. However, after the Congress government took over, ₹3.98 crore was generated within a year due to decisions made by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
As part of the new development plans, five water tanks will be built under the Amrut scheme, with land allocated at five locations. Around 590 electric poles will be installed, and new community halls, CC roads, drainage systems, graveyards, and a building for women will be developed. The municipality will also focus on beautification, constructing public toilets, and establishing a DRC near Valya Tanda for improved waste management.
For road infrastructure, several projects have been sanctioned. These include ₹3.58 crore for the Velkicherla-Madhigatta BT road, ₹4.50 crore for the Choula Tanda-Karivena BT road, and ₹65 lakh for the Mahbubnagar-Gajulapet-Tatikonda BT road. Additionally, ₹76 lakh under the Special Development Funds (SDF) has been allocated for Bhootpur mandal.
These initiatives aim to improve the overall infrastructure and quality of life in the municipality, marking a significant step forward in its development.
