Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister and State Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu has urged officials to find ways to boost the State’s revenue without increasing taxes for the public.

In a meeting with revenue-generating departments, the Minister reviewed the progress in income generation for the year. He had previously asked officials to come prepared with specific plans to increase revenue. He also recommended submitting a report on how they are implementing strategies to boost the State’s tax income. To prevent revenue loss, the commercial tax department was told to hold a special meeting and take necessary steps to address any issues.

The Deputy Chief Minister also addressed complaints about liquor being sold at prices higher than allowed by the MRP Act. He instructed the Excise Department to strengthen enforcement and take strict action against those violating the rules.
