Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu has raised concerns about a malicious campaign being carried out by some political forces against development works in Hyderabad.

Speaking at the NEREDCO Property Show at Hitex on Saturday, Bhatti revealed that Rs 10,000 crore has been allocated for the city’s development. This amount is specifically designated for capital expenditure, which will be used to improve Hyderabad’s infrastructure. He emphasized that “Hyderabad is ours, belongs to all of us, and it is a jewel in the crown of India,” adding that the city is emerging as a global hub.

The Deputy Chief Minister assured that the State government is committed to developing Hyderabad on a large scale. He reiterated that the Rs 10,000 crore would be spent on projects such as flyovers, underpasses, and drainage systems. These efforts aim to attract real estate developers from around the world, promoting further growth in the city.

Bhatti also highlighted that Hyderabad has access to drinking water from the Godavari, Krishna, and Manjira rivers, ensuring there are no water issues. Additionally, the Outer Ring Road around Hyderabad has gained national prominence. He pointed out that the city is home to important infrastructure, including an international airport, multi-speciality hospitals, and institutions like JNTU and IIIT, which the government plans to further develop for future generations.

The Deputy Chief Minister also mentioned ongoing efforts to address pollution in the city’s drains, revealing that 39 Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) have been sanctioned for this purpose. He said the government, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, is committed to providing a better life for those displaced by the Musi River projects.

For the Musi oustees, Bhatti announced plans to construct residential towers in the same area with all modern facilities. He also said integrated schools would be built for the displaced children’s education. Moreover, women from the DWCRA (Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas) groups would be given interest-free loans worth Rs 1,000 crore to help set up small-scale industries, creating employment opportunities for the community.
