The Telangana High Court’s single bench of Justice K. Lakshman in Hyderabad has rejected the bail pleas of YS Bhaskar Reddy and Gajjala Uday Kumar Reddy, who are accused in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case. The court believes that there is enough reason to believe that the accused have committed a serious and grave offense. They are also close relatives of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Avinash Reddy and are highly influential individuals. All the witnesses in the case are from Andhra Pradesh, which raises concerns about the possibility of the accused threatening or influencing them. The court emphasized the need to protect witnesses and ensure a fair and transparent trial. The argument made by the petitioners’ senior counsel, T Niranjan Reddy, that the investigating officer can seek bail cancellation if witnesses are threatened or influenced, was not accepted. After considering these factors and reviewing the case file, the court dismissed the bail petitions due to the serious allegations against the petitioners.
