The water level in the Godavari River in Bhadrachalam is still at the first warning level. At 12 pm on Sunday, the water level was recorded at 43.90 feet due to heavy rains in the area. On Friday, it had reached 36 feet but the warning level was withdrawn. However, the water level rose again slowly, prompting the re-issuing of the first warning level. The district Collector, Dr. Priyanka Ala, is closely monitoring the flood situation and has instructed officers to remain at their posts. Devotees are unhappy as they are not allowed to take holy dips in the river due to the flooding. The officers are continuously monitoring the flood situation from the Control room at Sub Collector Office. In addition, Dr. Priyanka Ala has visited flood relief centers, interacted with the victims, and ensured that sanitation and quality food are being provided. She has also inspected the shelters and given directions to the staff.
