ITDA Officer Stresses Better Teaching for Tribal Students
Bhadrachalam: ITDA Project Officer B. Rahul highlighted the importance of effective teaching methods to improve the foundational education of students in tribal welfare department ashram schools and GPS schools. He called for focused efforts to ensure students receive a strong educational base.
On Wednesday, B. Rahul inaugurated a one-day training program for Udeepakam Workbooks in English medium schools at the B.Ed. College in Bhadrachalam. He explained that the Telangana government introduced English medium education in ashram schools to build students’ basic skills. The Udeepakam Workbooks were specifically designed to achieve this goal.
The training program aims to help primary school students in grades 3, 4, and 5 master key skills like multiplication and division. Teachers were instructed to spend at least four hours daily teaching these concepts. If needed, they were asked to arrange special classes. Additionally, teachers were encouraged to identify struggling students and pair them with high-performing peers to promote collaborative learning.
B. Rahul issued a strict warning to teachers, stating that negligence in teaching the workbooks would result in serious consequences. He directed educators to effectively follow the 60-day action plan to ensure students build strong foundational skills. For high school students, a 100-day plan has been introduced to help them achieve excellent results in their 10th-grade exams.
The program was attended by several officials, including Tribal Welfare DDs Manemma and Vijayalakshmi, B.Ed. College Principal Veerunayak, ACMOs Ramanaiah and Sriramulu, and others.
