Hyderabad: The Silk of India Handloom Expo 2024 will be held from August 12th to 18th at Classic Gardens, Secunderabad. This event will showcase the craftsmanship and cultural heritage of India’s handloom industry. It brings together weavers, designers, and handloom enthusiasts from all over the country. The event aims to celebrate and support the rich traditions of handloom weaving.
The Expo will be officially opened by Tollywood actress and Bigg Boss fame, Ashwini Sree, along with organizers Somnath Bowmik and Abhijit Shaw. Ashwini expressed her honor in being part of the event, stating that it is not just an exhibition of textiles but a tribute to artisans who have preserved India’s cultural heritage through their craftsmanship.
The Silk of India, organized by the Bengal Handloom Art Exhibition, will feature a stunning display of handwoven textiles and traditional crafts from over 50 master weavers and more than 20 states across the region. Visitors can explore a variety of handloom products, including sarees, scarves, fabrics, and home textiles, all crafted by skilled artisans using traditional techniques.
Somnath Bowmik shared his excitement about the event, emphasizing its role in promoting and supporting talented weavers. Abhijit Shaw added that the exhibition is an opportunity for the community to appreciate the beauty and significance of handloom textiles and to ensure their legacy continues.
Renowned master weavers from across India will showcase their art at the expo, featuring Banarasi sarees, Bhagalpuri silk, Bangalore silk, Chennai silk, Mysore silk, Dharmavaram, Pochampally, Jamdani, Lenin cotton, Tussar, Vishnupuri silk, dress materials, Chanderi, and more. The Silk of India Handloom Expo 2024 is organized by Bengal Handloom Art.
