In Karimnagar, representatives from various bar associations have filed a complaint with the Director General of Police (DGP) against what they describe as police misconduct towards lawyers across the state. This took place on Friday.

Key figures like Kondal Reddy, the president of the State Federation of Bar Associations, along with PV Rajkumar, the working president and Karimnagar Bar Association president, and other bar association leaders, met with the DGP to present their concerns.

Kondal Reddy discussed several incidents where police have reportedly acted against lawyers, including raids and illegal cases in areas such as Bhadrachalam, Jangaon, Siddipet, Sircilla, Suryapet, Malkajigiri, and Vemulawada. In response to these actions, lawyers throughout the state have been boycotting work to protest against what they see as police overreach. Reddy emphasized that police, who are meant to uphold the law, are instead violating it by targeting lawyers who advocate for victims, which is not acceptable in a democratic society.
