Ramagundam Police Commissioner Enforces Strict Security Measures for Banks and ATMs
The Commissioner of Police for Ramagundam, M Srinivas, has instructed banks and ATMs under his jurisdiction to implement strict security measures. He emphasized the need for security guards, high-quality CCTV cameras, and alarm systems at all ATM centers to enhance public safety.
During a meeting with bank officials from Peddapalli and Mancherial zones at the Commissionerate office, several key issues were discussed. These included improving security at banks and ATMs, addressing financial crimes, analyzing past incidents, and planning preventive measures for the future.
The Commissioner pointed out that there are 109 banks and 79 ATMs in the Peddapalli zone, and 109 banks and 89 ATMs in the Mancherial zone. However, many of these establishments lack adequate security measures, such as advanced CCTV cameras or security guards.
To resolve these issues, Srinivas directed all banks and ATMs to install modern surveillance systems, ensure DVRs are placed securely, and hire trained security personnel. He also stressed the importance of regular monitoring by security guards to identify suspicious individuals or activities.
Bank staff and security personnel were urged to be especially vigilant during cash handling hours. They were instructed to report any unusual behavior immediately to the local police. Additionally, all banks were told to prominently display helpline numbers and contact details for nearby police stations to assist during emergencies.
The Commissioner further advised banks to conduct surprise security checks, particularly at night, to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
The meeting was attended by senior police officers, including Additional DCP C Raju, ACP Raghavendra Rao, inspectors, and representatives from various banks. These collaborative efforts aim to bolster security and prevent financial crimes in the region.
