The State BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar has urged Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to address the issues faced by artisans and employees in the power sector. In a letter addressed to KCR, Bandi highlighted that approximately 23,000 artisans and employees in the electricity sector have been protesting for several months. He expressed disappointment that the State government has not taken any action to resolve their grievances.

Bandi accused the government and power utilities’ management of having an anti-employee attitude towards artisans and employees. He emphasized that the government has not shown any interest in addressing issues related to General Provident Fund (GPF) and Pay Revision Commission (PRC). The protesting employees have been demanding the extension of GPF to those recruited between 1999 and 2004. Bandi believes that their demands are reasonable and just, and he urged the CM to take steps to address them.

Bandi also highlighted the important role played by protesting employees in the fight for the creation of Telangana. He cautioned against allowing power staff to go on strike as it could bring the entire administration to a grinding halt.

In addition, Bandi accused the government of neglecting its employees. He pointed out that pending Dearness Allowance (DA) to Road Transport Corporation (RTC) employees has not been paid yet. The government has also not responded to the demand for constituting PRC or extending cashless medical care to its staff.
