Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Visits Narva Mandal in Telangana
Grand Welcome in Narva Mandal
Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, accompanied by MP DK Aruna, visited Narva Mandal Centre in Narayanpet district on Thursday. Narva Mandal has been designated as one of the Aspirational Blocks in Telangana by the Central government. Upon his arrival, Bandi Sanjay received a warm welcome from thousands of people.
He began his visit by going to the Anganwadi Centre, where he interacted with children and checked the quality of the nutritional food provided to them. During a baby shower ceremony, he distributed fruits to pregnant women and inquired about their health. He also planted a sapling at the centre as part of his visit.
Primary Health Center Issues
Bandi Sanjay next visited the Primary Health Center (PHC) in the area. Locals informed him about the absence of a doctor at the facility. He immediately directed authorities to appoint a regular doctor. Observing the lack of furniture at the PHC, which was inconveniencing patients, he instructed the District Collector to provide the necessary furniture without delay.
Concerns About Infrastructure
Residents raised concerns about poor road connectivity to the Mandal Centre. Bandi Sanjay later visited a government school, where he interacted with students during their mid-day meals and asked about their challenges. The school staff mentioned a shortage of utensils for cooking mid-day meals. In response, he directed the District Collector to address the issue and ensure proper infrastructure in schools.
Meeting with District Officials
The Union Minister and MP DK Aruna then visited the Narayanpet District Collectorate and met with the Collector, Snigdha. Bandi Sanjay emphasized the need for significant development in Narva Mandal, given its designation as an Aspirational Block. He asked detailed questions about the health and welfare metrics in the area, including the percentage of pregnant women registered for Antenatal Care (ANC) and discrepancies in the data compared to state averages.
Further Queries and Instructions
Bandi Sanjay questioned the accuracy of claims regarding achievements like 100% completion of blood sugar tests and nutritional support for women. He also raised concerns about incomplete soil testing in the area. He urged officials to expand the “Samagratha Abhiyan” (Comprehensive Campaign) to address these issues and ensure progress. He instructed the Collector to resolve the problems raised by residents and promised to revisit Narva in March or April next year to review the progress.
Focus on Development Programmes
Speaking to the media, Bandi Sanjay explained that “Samagratha Abhiyan” is part of the Central government’s “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas” initiative, launched by the NITI Aayog. He highlighted that the programme aims to improve the living standards of people in neglected areas. He shared that in 2018, 112 Aspirational Districts were identified across the country, and in 2023, the programme was extended to 500 blocks, including ten in Telangana.
Commitment to Narva’s Development
Concluding his visit, Bandi Sanjay stated that his primary goal was to assess the progress of development programmes in Narva Mandal. He assured the residents that he would work to resolve their issues and ensure the overall development of the region. “I will do my part to ensure the all-round development of Narva Mandal,” he stated.
