Karimnagar Member of Parliament, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, attended the launch of the Amrit Bharat Station scheme at Karimnagar railway station. The scheme, implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to develop 508 railway stations in India. The redevelopment of 21 railway stations in Telangana, including Karimnagar, will take place in the first phase at a cost of Rs 914 crores. These stations will be equipped with modern facilities such as free Wi-Fi, improved lighting, upgraded parking, and disabled-friendly infrastructure.
Additionally, Rs 26.60 crores have been allocated for the beautification of Karimnagar railway station, including the installation of modern platforms and restrooms. The survey for the railway line from Karimnagar to Kazipet via Hasanparthi has also begun, with Rs 20 crores allocated for its construction. Several Road Over Bridges (ROBs) have been completed or sanctioned in different railway lines to improve connectivity and convenience for passengers.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the works of Amrit Bharat stations virtually, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the development of railway infrastructure. The launch event was attended by local officials, railway department representatives, corporators, and public representatives.
