BJP national general secretary and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar criticized the election machinery in Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency for not stopping the distribution of money and liquor to voters. He claimed that the Congress is giving Rs 1,000 and half a bottle of liquor to lure voters, and despite complaints made through the cVIGIL app, the distribution continues. Bandi also accused officials of sending the reports to leaders instead of taking action.
Party members from various villages and mandals have been reporting Congress leaders engaging in these activities to Bandi’s office. He questioned if the Election Commission only oversees polling and nothing else, alleging that officials are protecting those committing electoral malpractices.
Bandi described winning elections through malpractices as a “murder of democracy” and questioned if money distribution could happen without the cooperation of officials and police. He urged the Election Commission to focus on illegal activities influencing voters and take immediate action to stop them. If no action is taken, he warned that BJP members may reclaim money from those involved in such acts and distribute it to the public.
