Bandi Launches 'AR-VR Lab' at ITI

Karimnagar: For the first time in Telangana, teaching using Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) methods has started at Karimnagar ITI (Industrial Training Institute).

The use of AR and VR labs for teaching ITI courses has already been introduced in a few states such as Assam, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and Vizag in Andhra Pradesh. Now, under a pilot project, the same technology has been brought to Telangana, with Karimnagar ITI College being the first in the state to set up such a lab.

With the help of the AR and VR Lab, ITI students can learn various trades in a live, interactive way. Courses like electrician, wireman, welder, fitter, mechanical trade, and turner trade can all be practiced using this advanced technology.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, inaugurated the AR and VR Lab at the ITI as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday celebrations. He observed how different courses can be taught using Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality and addressed the students afterward. He mentioned that this lab is currently a pilot project, but there are plans to expand it further for the benefit of more students.

During the event, students informed Bandi Sanjay about issues such as problems with the washrooms and damaged windows in the ITI. He promised to take action to resolve these concerns and provide all necessary basic facilities in the institute.

Bandi Sanjay also criticized the BRS government, stating that it had not focused on improving basic amenities or introducing modern teaching methods in ITIs during its 10-year rule. He further commented that although the Congress government promised to establish a Skill University, it has yet to be implemented.
