Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, wished everyone a happy Ugadi on Sunday. He said the festival is a symbol of the rich traditions of Telugu culture and welcomed the new Telugu calendar year, ‘Vishwavasu.’
Speaking to the media in Karimnagar, the Minister said that India is moving forward economically under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He asked people to support Modi’s efforts to develop the country. He also referred to Panchangam predictions, which warned about rising theft, corruption among officials, and a new disease. He said these predictions seem to be coming true, as corruption is visible in many government departments. He accused Congress leaders of being affected by a “Corruption Virus,” where no work gets done without bribes, and people are suffering because of it.
Bandi Sanjay also criticized the BRS party, saying that its 10-year rule brought a “Pink Virus” to Telangana. He claimed that the BJP has fought against this and helped the state recover. He promised that the BJP would protect people from the Congress “Corruption Virus” by continuing its fight against corruption, calling their efforts a “vaccine” against it.
On a positive note, he supported the plan to distribute fine rice in Telangana. He pointed out that the Modi government pays Rs 40 per kg for the rice, while the State government contributes only Rs 10. He said the Central government spends much more on the scheme and demanded that Prime Minister Modi’s photo be displayed at all ration shops to give proper credit.
The Minister also raised concerns about the phone-tapping case, accusing Congress of trying to weaken the investigation. He claimed that Congress helped people like Shravan Rao get bail. He reminded that before the elections, Congress leader Revanth Reddy had promised to take action against KCR’s family, but has now gone silent. He said no arrests or legal notices have been issued in the past year and a half.
He further accused BRS leaders of making anti-national comments and said that Congress, BRS, and AIMIM are working together. He questioned why BRS is not contesting MLC elections despite having more corporators. He also claimed that Congress is avoiding the elections to help AIMIM win. Even though BJP does not have enough strength, he said it will still compete in the GHMC Local Body MLC elections. He also mentioned that the Waqf Board Amendment Bill has gathered all necessary opinions and will soon be passed in Parliament.
Bandi Sanjay defended the RSS, calling it a nationalist group that protects India’s traditions and unites Hindus. He said the RSS has never supported terrorism. On the other hand, he accused Owaisi Hospital of sheltering terrorists and claimed Darussalam has become a hub for them. He said RSS offices are visited by patriots.
Finally, he said AIMIM is not capable of contesting elections across Telangana and only works to protect the Owaisi family’s business interests. He challenged Congress and BRS to field their own candidates in the GHMC MLC elections and compete separately. He warned that if they fail to do so, the people will respond strongly.
