Today, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a grand event at their office in Ayija. The celebration was led by Town Convener Pradeep Kumar and Co-Convener Kampati Bharat Reddy.
The event was organized to celebrate the 74th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Party members marked the occasion by cutting a cake, sharing sweets, and exchanging warm wishes. They reaffirmed their commitment to the party’s main philosophy, which is “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas” (Together with All, Development for All, Trust of All). The leaders emphasized the importance of working for the nation’s progress and development.
In addition to the birthday celebrations, the national flag was hoisted to honor Telangana Liberation Day. The leaders took the opportunity to explain the significance of this day. Before 1948, Hyderabad was a princely state under the rule of the Nizam, and while India gained independence on August 15, 1947, Hyderabad did not immediately join the Indian Union. The Nizam wanted to either make Hyderabad an independent Islamic state or merge it with Pakistan.
However, under the leadership of India’s then Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a military operation was launched. On September 17, 1948, the Nizam surrendered, leading to the integration of Hyderabad into India. Since then, September 17 has been celebrated as Telangana Liberation Day, marking the end of the Nizam’s oppressive rule.
Several prominent leaders attended the event, including Kisan Morcha State Executive Member Medikonda Bhim Sen Rao, Mandal President Gopal Krishna, Veerayya Chari, Laxman Goud, Laxman Chari, M. Shekhar, and other BJP members.
