The Telangana Auto Drivers JAC has decided to support the Congress Party in the upcoming elections. The convenor, Amanullah Khan, explained that financiers seize autos for alleged payment defaults and transfer them to their possession by submitting an application in Form-36 to the RTA offices. They then scrap the vehicles and purchase new ones to sell at a higher price of over Rs 5 lakh, which is Rs 2.5 lakh more than the actual showroom price.
Khan accused the police department of neglecting the auto drivers who are suffering due to black-market sales of new autos. He appealed to the City Police Commissioner CV Anand to help the auto owners retrieve their original RCs, permits, and finance agreements that were illegally kept by the financiers. He also urged the police to arrest the financiers who play a role in auto black-marketing.
