Hyderabad: Musharraf Ali Faruqui, the Chairman and Managing Director of Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGSPDCL), has urged officials to ensure the safety and uninterrupted power supply during the Ganesh festival. The celebrations will last for 11 days, starting from September 7.

During a meeting on Friday, the CMD reviewed the special arrangements being made to ensure reliable power supply at the Ganesh pandals. He also advised people and pandal organizers to follow safety precautions. Faruqui specifically requested that pandal organizers get power connections only through the official departmental staff and avoid climbing electricity poles themselves.

Faruqui further emphasized the importance of safety while handling electrical work around the pandals. He asked the organizers to thoroughly check the surroundings and ensure that children stay away from electric wires, poles, or any potentially dangerous electrical equipment.

He also instructed that only ISI-marked standard service wires, without any joints, should be used in the pandals. In case of snapped wires, people should avoid touching them and immediately inform the electricity department by calling 1912, 100, or contacting the local fuse office.
