The district collector of Mahabubagar, G Ravi Nayak, wants to provide more employment to rural people in the area. He spoke at a meeting with officials and asked them to increase the number of workers under the Mahatma Gandhi Employment Guarantee Scheme. The collector also wants officials to plant more saplings for the Haritha Haaram programme so that they can create decadal forests in the district. He asked them to grow tall plants for the celebration of Decadal celebrations of Telangana State Formation.
The agricultural season is over, and the district collector wants officials to identify non-agricultural work in villages so that they can provide employment to rural people. The collector also directed officials to provide better facilities at crematorium grounds across the district, such as water and electricity. He asked them to dig hand-bore wells and install solar lighting systems if necessary.
