Mahabubnagar MP DK Aruna has urged the Central government to set up an Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Mahabubnagar district. She said the region has remained underdeveloped mainly because it lacks good educational facilities and professional institutions of international standards.
Speaking during Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, Aruna stressed the need for world-class education to improve the district’s future. She explained that although Palamuru has several industries, the absence of a top IT institute has made it difficult for local people to find jobs in the area.
Aruna said that opening an IIIT in Mahabubnagar would help produce skilled professionals, boost local employment, and support the growth of industries. She added that it would also improve the region’s educational standards and help students achieve success both nationally and internationally.
She further noted that without a quality technical institution, many young people in the district are unable to take advantage of job opportunities, even though industries are already present in the region.
