Hyderabad: Around 720 talented students from government schools in Telangana received awards for their academic achievements on Thursday. The awards were presented by Woman and Child Welfare Minister Seethakka. The event was organized by the Telangana Balotsav Committee, and about 175 students from government schools across the state attended.
The awards included medals and certificates for students in Classes VII, VIII, IX, and X, who scored 10 points in their final exams last academic year. During the event, the students took a pledge to continue their hard work.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Seethakka expressed pride in the accomplishments of government school students. She noted that these students are excelling in their studies and competing with those from corporate schools. She emphasized that many prominent politicians, including herself, once studied in government schools and that it should be a matter of pride.
On the issue of drug addiction, Minister Seethakka pointed out that drug usage is increasing even in villages. She stressed the need for more awareness and preventative sessions to combat drug addiction and prevent teen suicides.
