Addressing a joint session of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and Council, he said the split has deeply hurt the people and caused significant problems. The loss of Hyderabad, he noted, resulted in major economic damage.

Governor Nazeer congratulated the new coalition government and emphasized the importance of inclusive development for Andhra Pradesh. He praised former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for his work from 2014 to 2019, highlighting the investments and balanced development during his tenure. However, he criticized the previous YSRCP government, stating that since 2019, the state has faced losses in various sectors, and investors have pulled out. He pointed out that the state has accumulated debt between 2019 and 2024.

The Governor also mentioned that the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act did not provide enough compensation for the state’s development, leading to unequal distribution of assets and liabilities. He said only 46% of resources were inherited, and losing Hyderabad caused a significant revenue deficit.

He noted that the per capita income in the united Andhra Pradesh was Rs 1,06,176, which dropped to Rs 93,121 after the bifurcation. The unresolved issues from the split posed challenges, but Chandrababu Naidu’s government turned these into opportunities, laying the foundation for Sunrise Andhra Pradesh. Naidu’s administration focused on coastal and port-based development and created a favorable environment for manufacturing.

Governor Nazeer highlighted the completion of the Pattiseema project in record time and the 72% completion of the Polavaram project under Naidu’s leadership. He also mentioned the development of the Amaravati region through land acquisition and the construction of new Secretariat and Assembly buildings.

During his speech, YSRCP members interrupted, expressing their anger over comments about the state’s backwardness under their rule. They chanted slogans like “End Murder Politics… Save Democracy” and walked out in protest.
