Officials from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted a five-hour search at the Tehsildar’s office in Marriguda on Saturday. The search began at 10.20am and ended in the afternoon. The ACB received allegations of Tehsildar Manchireddy Mahender Reddy having disproportionate assets.
Mahender Reddy became the Tehsildar of Marriguda on August 3 after being transferred from Kandukuru mandal in Rangareddy district. He is originally from Veliminedu village in Ibrahimpatnam mandal. During the search, officials examined registration records with two office staff present. They also searched 14 other locations belonging to Mahender Reddy’s relatives.
According to reliable sources, cash amounting to Rs 2 crore and several kilograms of gold were found in a trunk box at Mahender Reddy’s residence in Hasthinapuram, Hyderabad. He had previously faced corruption allegations in Kandukur.
