German electric bus and truck manufacturer, Pepper Motion’s CEO, Andreas Hager, met with Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at his office in Tadepalli. Pepper Motion plans to build the world’s largest electric bus manufacturing unit on 800 acres of land in Punganur, Chittoor district, with an investment of Rs 4,640 crore. This manufacturing unit will create jobs for approximately 8,100 people.
During the meeting, Chief Minister YS Jagan discussed the Andhra Pradesh Government’s efforts in promoting green energy, industrial policies, single window permits, and transparent policies. Andreas Hager informed the Chief Minister that Pepper Motion intends to build a unit capable of producing 30,000 electric buses and trucks per year.
Hager also mentioned that the company plans to establish an integrated vertical production facility for manufacturing electric buses and trucks, as well as batteries with a capacity of 20 GWH. He expressed his happiness in setting up this world-class unit in Andhra Pradesh and praised the support received from the government. Hager also mentioned the company’s plans to partner with Asian, Middle Eastern, and African countries through the Global Center of Excellence being set up in Andhra Pradesh.
Various officials, including Rajampet MP Peddireddy Mithun Reddy and Pepper Motion CTO Dr Mathias Kerler, were present at the meeting.
