The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a storm and heavy rainfall warning for the coasts of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha States. Severe winds reaching 50 kmph are expected along and off the coast of Andhra Pradesh due to an atmospheric depression that formed over the west-central Bay of Bengal and moved towards the Andhra coast. The depression has now intensified into a deep depression due to its north and northeastward movement.

The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall at one or two places over South Coast Coastal Andhra Pradesh for November 16, 2023. Fishermen have been advised not to go out to sea along and off North Andhra Pradesh coast and Yanam for the next three days.
