Union Home Minister Amit Shah has promised to revitalize the economic landscape of Mulugu if Dr Ajmira Prahlad, the BJP’s candidate, wins the upcoming elections. Shah made this pledge during a large gathering called the ‘Vijaya Sankalpa Sabha’ in Mulugu district. He assured the establishment of a paper factory and the restoration of key infrastructure, showing the BJP’s commitment to the welfare of adivasis and tribals.
Shah addressed concerns raised by Dr Prahlad about the closure of a paper factory in Mangapet mandal under the Congress government. He promised to renovate and re-establish the factory. The BJP rally also highlighted concerns about funds allocated for a National Tribal University in Mulugu. Shah promised an additional Rs 300 crores if Dr Prahlad emerges victorious. He accused the ruling party of creating division between tribal and non-tribal populations in Mulugu.
Shah made noteworthy promises in his speech, including granting national status to Medaram Sammakka and Saralamma, as well as establishing a tribal museum at the national level. He emphasized the BJP’s dedication to tribal welfare and cited examples of tribal empowerment under the Modi government. Prominent initiatives such as scholarships, housing, and sanitation were mentioned, with Shah asserting the BJP’s intent to provide comprehensive solutions to issues like waste land management. He also mentioned the plan to deposit Rs 12,000 into farmers’ accounts if the BJP wins in Telangana.
Shah criticized the ruling KCR government, accusing it of diverting funds meant for development into corruption. He called for the removal of Chief Minister KCR, alleging misappropriation of thousands of crores in the name of schemes. The BJP rally had a significant turnout, with around 30 thousand attendees. Notable figures from the BJP, including former MLA Martineni Dharmarao, were present.
