Hyderabad Tragedy: Allu Arjun Expresses Grief, Denies Responsibility
Actor Allu Arjun, known for his role in Pushpa-2, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, where a woman lost her life in a stampede, and her son, Sritej, was critically injured. The actor clarified that no one was at fault and described the incident as an “unfortunate accident.”
Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, Allu Arjun conveyed his condolences to the grieving family. He expressed frustration over the spread of misinformation, false allegations, and personal attacks on his character following the incident. He stated that such claims had left him feeling humiliated.
The actor denied allegations of organizing a procession or roadshow on the day of the tragedy. He explained that he had only waved at fans outside the theatre at the request of the police and his security personnel. This gesture, he said, was intended to disperse the crowd and allow his car to move forward. He also refuted claims that police had asked him to leave due to the swelling crowd.
Allu Arjun shared that the theatre management advised him to leave the venue because of the large number of people gathered. He left immediately with his wife and children, unaware of the tragic events that transpired. He only learned about the incident the following day.
The actor revealed that since hearing of the incident, he had been closely monitoring the condition of the injured boy, who is undergoing treatment at a corporate hospital. He expressed his desire to visit the child but said his legal team advised against it, citing tensions at the hospital and the fact that a case had been filed against him.
Allu Arjun clarified that the theatre had sought official permission for his visit to the cinema hall. He emphasized that his intentions were pure and dismissed accusations of irresponsibility. The actor refused to answer further questions, citing the ongoing legal proceedings.
